Layouts provide the starting point for many projects, whether that is for a card or a scrapbook page. Use them as a pattern for using your craft stash, in the same way as a dressmaking pattern would be used.

A layout is a sketch or pattern that can be used when making a card or a scrapbook page for inspiration. They show the positioning of toppers, sentiments and other features of any card or page and can be used with a wide variety of products, meaning that any layout can look very different, depending on the colours and products used. They can be changed in size and shape and can even be tweaked, for example by replacing squares with circles.

The layouts in this book are simply guides to making a card, with each template having several layers shown on it, starting with the base layer then adding different shapes and sizes to it. They can be used with cardstock, papers and toppers, as well as stamps, dies, masks or embossing folders. Use a sentiment for the occasion and you have created a very special card!
